Slapbak is a six-piece band that crosses just about every musical boundary, as long as they can put their Funk backbone behind it. The band is a cross between Funkadelic, Rage Against The Machine, and the Black Eyed Peas. They’ve done two albums under Warner Brothers Records as well as many licensed CD releases overseas. Between Jara and Slapbak, they’ve worked with Bootsy Collins, George Clinton, Jordin Sparks, Fishbone, Earth Wind and Fire, Snoop Dogg, and Digital Underground to name a few. When you see their live show, you see nothing but energy on the stage… along with a tight groove. The show and the music speaks for itself. They have an undeniable sound that the leader Jara has fine-tuned over the years. They call it “Urban Crunch”.
